JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, employees in this position perform routine clerical and accounting duties.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Calculates math to process and record a variety of accounting documents such as invoices, bills, receipts, payroll, statements, reports, etc. Inputs data and/or posts financial information to maintain and update records, using computer. Verifies figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to financial transactions and accounting records for accuracy. Prepares and reconciles accounting documents to balance accounts. Prepares written materials and documents from rough draft or verbal direction, using computer or typewriter. Establishes and maintains automated and/or hard copy files and records. Answers telephone and assists callers with information or referral. Answers inquiries and provides information to walk-in customers. Distributes fare merchandise/literature for delivery or mail services and audits monthly returns. Maintains cash box to sell fare merchandise and collect money, makes change and issues receipts. Performs cash box audits and/or inventory fare merchandise to balance accounts. Depending on assignment, may drive District vehicle to various locations to pick up and/or deliver mail or to transit stations and centers to collect and restock revenue in fare vending and money change machines. Counts, weighs, bags, tags, and stacks currency and coin revenues for armored car pick up. May repeatedly lift objects up to fifty-five (55) pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year of clerical, accounting and/or cash handling;
– OR –
Fifteen (15) semester units of completed college level accounting or math-related course work can be substituted for each six months of work experience.
Proof of required education such as college transcripts, diplomas and/or certificates must be submitted with completed application.
Special Requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C drivers’ license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Student Intern Sacramento Regional Transit Construction Management and IT Departments Internal / External

JOB SUMMARY Under immediate supervision, the Student Intern performs a wide variety of duties supporting both the Project Controls team within the Construction Management department as well as the IT Department in the area of P6 software system administration. The expected work schedule will be 20-40 hours per week.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsibilities related to Project Controls include but are not limited to updating and maintaining project data in the P6 software system, cost and schedule functions, developing scope of work, project budget and project schedule, reviewing contractors’ schedule and reporting progress at various stages. Responsibilities related to the IT department will include but are not limited to P6 systems configuration, form design and programming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Must be enrolled with senior level status for the 2009/2010 school year, in an accredited four year college or university majoring in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Management) or Computer Science.
Experience: Candidates must be familiar with Construction Management functions and Project Management methodology (such as scheduling). Candidates also must be familiar with Project Management software (such as Primavera or Microsoft Project) as well as Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Ideal candidates will also possess excellent analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
